Overview:

Individuals with emotional eating issues, including binge eating disorder, need to be understood by clinicians, nutritionists, physicians, nurses, educators and all mental health practitioners. The pain and negative impact of these unhealthy eating behaviors on our patients’ lives is overwhelming and far reaching. This seminar is designed to help clinicians effectively identify and treat patients with eating and body image disturbances.

Using case studies, exercises and humor, Ms. Kingsbury will teach attendees proven techniques and therapeutic interventions to address the underlying clinical issues that manifest in emotional eating patterns. Participants will explore how their own relationship with food, and beliefs about weight, impact their work with this vast population. Of special importance, attendees will learn the power of helping themselves as well as their patients stay hopeful during the recovery process.

Topics to be presented:

The Bad Body Fever Epidemic and You

Emotional Eating as an Attempted Solution

Creative Therapeutic Tools for You to Apply Immediately

Nothing To Lose: Health at Any Size

Stepping Outside Your Comfort Zone

Recovery is a team sport
